Linn have just announced the latest upgrades for the LP12: Keel SE and Klimax Radikal.
Keel SE takes the milled from the solid concept of the Keel, and applies a Finite Element Analysis to it. This analysis determines where the stresses are within the Keel, and allows Linn to add reinforcing to stiffen the sub-chassis where it counts.
The intricate bracing structure machined into the underside of Keel SE – designed using a mixture of manual and computer-aided optimisations – has helped us to achieve our number one goal of increasing sub-chassis stiffness as much as possible. This significant 300% increase versus our previous designs means that any vibrations travelling through Keel SE have their frequencies forced higher, and their energy substantially lowered. Priced at £4,250 This is a substantial upgrade for the LP12.
The Klimax Radikal, takes the Radikal power supply, and applies two concepts to it: The Utopik power Supply – with separated outputs for motor and Urika, and the new style machined Klimax case – taking the same form as the Klimax DSM, and Klimax Solo 500. The case provides increased isolation, both mechanical and electrical, and the control circuitry delivers the most precise speed control achieved yet so you can hear more of the music.
