This Cinema room was created from a house extension during a major refurbishment – It might look familiar as inspiration was drawn from a previous installation with this client visiting the previous client to pick up ideas and see how the cinema room came together. The system includes a fixed cinemascope aspect acoustic screen, Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 speakers. 4k sources and projector, and some of our lovely wall panels carefully made on site by Ken. A couple of blackout blinds keep out the summer light and are coupled to the lights which can be driven from the wall switch and also from the system remote control.
We built a platform at the rear of the room calculating that we could just squeak in the height so that the rear seats had a clear view of the whole screen, and you could still stand on the platform without risking cracking your head (Unless you’re really quite tall – which neither of us are!)
Lighting for this room was important, with two channels for downlights, a channel for step illumination, and a multi-colour LED strip around the ceiling drop. Added to this electric blinds, and this room is one of the most popular for the family.
Amplification was from the Anthem MRX-1120 driving all speakers – the custom cupboards and shelving at the front under the screen included an open-top section, so there was plenty of ventilation for it. 4K Blu-Ray source was from the Sony UBP-X1100ES in our opinion one of the best sources around, and coupled with the 4K Apple TV, and Sky Q most regular requirements are dealt with.
