Yesterday we went to the CU Exposed show in Covent Garden. This show aimed at the trade from the distributor Computers Unlimited is aimed at showing off the range of gadgets and Gizmos available to us. There were very large amounts of Apple accessories (cases, covers, connectors, batteries – you name it) in amongst this were some really neat ideas relevant to HiFi Solutions:
The Transporter by Connected Data
This device solves the problem of how to copy your music between two or more locations. This becomes an issue for customers with say a system in their main house, and another system in a holiday house. keeping the two in sync either involves taking a hard disk between the two, and being systematic about copying the data, or some sophisticated networking with fixed IP addresses and some technical knowledge. With the transporter, the hard disks are linked and plugged into the network at each location. Any music you copy onto one, is automatically copied onto the other wherever it is.
here’s a short video showing what it does:

Philips Hue Lighting
We often get involved in lighting systems for our home cinema systems – these really add a finishing touch to a home cinema design however are often costly to implement. The new Hue system from Philips allows individual Hue lights to be controlled from a network connected device (apple iPod/pad/phone, or android phone or PC etc). It means that we can integrate control of these lights with one of our iPad DemoControl solutions, so for example when if you hit pause when a film is played, the lights automatically come on…
Here’s an introduction video to the concept:
