On the 11th April, this Linn Lounge Presents event features the legendary Jazz saxophonist John Coltrane. He has been a hugely influential musician, helping to develop the use of “modes” in Jazz. He recorded many tracks with other artists including Miles Davies and Thelonius Monk, as well as a band leader in his own right.
This evening starting from 7pm goes through John Coltrane’s life and influences, and features Studio Master tracks from the album ” A Love Supreme” which can be downloaded from the Linn Records web site.
Linn Lounge Presents… are free music events, where James from Linn gives a presentation on the life and music of each selected artist. The presentation is interspersed with video clips and music from the artist and key influencers, and concludes with selected tracks from the featured album played in Studio Master resolution, just as it was mixed at the studio. These events are aimed at promoting Studio Master resolution music, and effectively demonstrate the capabilities of modern HiFi. However they are more for the musical enjoyment and understanding of the featured artist than for selling HiFi – we don’t get into the technical bits and bobs of HiFi systems, though of course will answer any questions you may have.
