The Projector is Sony’s VPL-XW5000ES entry level Laser native 4K projector with 2160 lines effectively producing an image more like that from 70mm film stock. This is a seriously good projector with a bright crisp image and fantastic blacks and contrast. Fast moving action is handled with ease and it delivers all the excitement of the big screen in buckets.

Coupled with this, the combination of the Anthem MRX-740 and the DALI Rubicon speakers, produces a sound system that would please ardent audiophiles. The Rubicon 6 speakers used for the front channels are one of our reference speaker types, and are fantastic value for money with a finish and sound quality suitable for high end stereo. Add to this Anthem’s award-winning Anthem Room Correction (ARC) system, and it is able to tame most of the effects that the room has on the sound, leaving you with a relaxed and powerful sound stage where the subtleties that are often lost with other room correction systems are still there and the whole system is musical and enjoyable.

The source is often somewhat neglected in home cinema systems, as the average Blu-Ray player is really pretty good, however the Sony UBP-X800 4K Blu-Ray player selected here, is in the region where players become something special.

The Silver Home Cinema Package system is suitable for rooms up to about 30′ x 20′ in size, however we’ve experienced this level of system in rooms up to 75′ x 75′ which have been delightfully impressive! Upgrades to the package would include a larger screen size, separate power amplifiers and Additional Sub.
