When DALI announced that they were producing an outdoor speaker, we didn’t exactly hold our breath, however we did eventually order a pair to see what they were like, with a couple of projects in mind.
When these turned up, the first thought was that the box was larger than we were expecting… Looking at the speakers we were pleasantly surprised, with a really good quality feel to them. There is a well thought-out bayonet-style connection between the speaker and the wall bracket, which includes a decent looking waterproof gasket. The wall bracket itself includes a cover to keep the elements out and away from the gold-plated sprung terminals.
A few minutes fiddling with some speaker cables, and we had them producing sound – from our showroom Naim Uniti Nova, and I have to say we were very impressed. They produce a well-rounded sound with a crisp clear bass and no hint of harshness. I would be quite happy to have them on the wall of my living room!
These are undoubtably premium outdoor speakers made for the real outdoors in Europe where it rains (rather than a Californian version of outdoors!). They are well thought out and perform above expectations. At ~£800 / pair, we think they are great value, and promise to last longer than most outdoor speakers we’ve played with.
