Imagine it, you want to watch a film, you go to your lounge or home cinema room and press the DVD button. The projector wakes up, the screen comes down and as it does, the curtains close. The lights set and the DVD tray opens ready for you to put your favourite movie in. You press play, and the lights dim after a few seconds, allowing you to reach your armchair and settle down in time for the start of the movie. Two button presses! No fumbling around for the right remote control and remembering what is connected to what, or stumbling to your chair in the dark.
You want refreshments during the movie – at a suitable point you press pause on the remote, it pauses the film and automatically brightens the lights for you to find the drinks. Pressing resume dims the lights and starts the film playing again.
Our NaimNet systems will link everything together, so at the touch of a button you can set the scene for your home cinema, adjusting the lights, air conditioning and curtains etc for the ideal ambience and comfort.
The technology is designed to make your life easier not more complicated – one control does it all with easy to read screens and buttons, either for a single room or the whole house. The only limit is your imagination! Come and talk to us about your dreams!
Naim has waited until now, studying the market and its offerings carefully, until it was in a position to deliver genuinely innovative solutions that provide the quality that it is known for. NaimNet™ is a combination of Naim’s expertise in audio and video together with the IP technology of StreamNet™ licensed from NetStreams® LLC.
StreamNet is an innovative and technically superior transport and control system enabling easy control of multiple sources, and uniquely allows full bandwidth audio, metadata (data about the data), and control signals to be distributed digitally around the house on an IP (home) network. It also allows easy system integration with AV, heating, lighting and security systems.
This home network is the same as would be used for connecting two or more computers to share an internet connection or a printer. This same CAT5E wiring can still be used for the home computer network and NaimNet making the cabling especially flexible and convenient.
NaimNet delivers genuine CD quality by sending digital audio that’s a bit-for-bit copy of the CD across the network to any room, and solves the very common problem of sound in one room not being in sync with the sound in others. Furthermore, NaimNet ensures that full quality audio is delivered to local amplifiers digitally without the degradation associated with conventional distribution systems.
The NaimNet system is scaleable and can accommodate up to 1.8 million rooms. It is possible also to have a high-end AV system in one primary room, a high-end audio system in another and a reasonable but low cost system in, say, the kitchen or bathroom. The system while not being exactly 'plug and play' is far simpler to setup than most competing systems which deliver far less.
A great system is useless if no one in the family can operate it. Much thought and planning has gone into making NaimNet easy to operate through a range of rich interfaces such as wall panels, PDAs, Tablets, a PC or a stand alone control interface. Data security is another aspect that has recieved much attention from Naim - all four of the new NaimNet servers include Naim Secure Music Storage so that the owner need never worry about losing his precious music collection.
